Michael E.
Hicks, MS, CSCS
President, Perfectly Fit Inc. & Exercise
PhysiologistMike earned his Masters of Science degree in
Exercise Physiology/human performance from
Bridgewater State College. While attending
graduate school, Mike worked as a graduate
assistant and taught undergraduate exercise
physiology laboratory classes. While
obtaining his masters degree, Mike also
worked in the nuclear medicine
stress-testing unit at Brigham and Women’s
Hospital, Boston MA as well as the Miriam
Hospital, Providence RI in the center for
cardiac fitness and rehabilitation. Mike is a
Certified Strength and Conditioning
Specialist (CSCS) and a member of the
National Strength and Conditioning
Association, as well as a regional member of
the American College of Sports Medicine.
Mike also holds a current CPR certification. |

Matt Flynn, BS, ACSM/HFI Matt earned his BS in Physical Education /
Exercise Science from the University of
Rhode Island. Matt has been personal
training and prescribing exercise programs
for his clients for the past three and a half
years at Perfectly Fit. In addition to his
training duties Matt is also the acting
manager of the studio. Matt’s training
approach is as varied as his clients. Matt
likes to utilize a variety of different
methods of training, such as strength/
power, endurance/lactic acid training,
functional training, flexibility and core
strengthening.
Matt’s completed in Olympic and Half-Ironman
distance triathlons and also enjoys
hiking/backpacking, and rock climbing. Matt
is also a cyclist enthusiast, and has
completed the MS-150 several times. This
triathlon season Matt has mapped out a
competitive plan specifically for the
upcoming season. |

Andy Llaguno,
MSEd, ATC, CSCS
Andy Llaguno a
native from Fair Lawn, NJ is a 1992 graduate
of the University of Rhode Island with a
B.S. in Physical Education & Exercise
Science. Andy earned a MSEd., from Old
Dominion University in 1994. He joins the
URI staff with a wealth of experience
serving on the sports medicine staffs at
Boston College, West Virginia University,
and Penn State as an Assistant Football
Athletic Trainer & Clinical Instructor.
Presently, Andy
works with the RAMS Football Team on a
day-to-day basis. He also works with the
women’s varsity rowing team and assists in
supervising all the other varsity teams at
URI. In the past years at BC, WVU, PSU, and
at URI he has lectured in an array of Sports
Medicine classes. He has also lectured at
state, district, and regional conferences.
Andy is dedicated to the educational process
of students and was instrumental in the
development of the athletic training
curriculum at West Virginia. |

Leslie Summer, NSCA-CPT
Leslie is a mother of two who took interest
in fitness 8 years ago after her daughter
was born.
After four years of being a client at
Perfectly Fit, she decided to pursue a
career in personal training.
She joined the professional team at
Perfectly Fit in late 2002, learning by
experience. She received her NSCA
certification in September2003. She has
continued her quest for health and wellness
knowledge through seminars and continuing
education credits.
Leslie began running in 2003 and has since
completed many 5k races, several 10 mile
runs and a triathlon sprint. She has
inspired several of her current clients to
race along her side. Her next goal is to
complete a half marathon in Disney World in
2008.
Leslie is extremely passionate about her
clients and her job. She feels very
fortunate to be able to have a career in
what she loves to do. |

Dave Murphy, BS, ACSM-CPT
David grew up in Dublin, Ireland where he
was passionate about soccer and played
semi-professionally. He moved to the
United States in 1995 where he met his wife,
Angela. David has been a youth soccer
coach for more than 10 years. He holds
an E, D and C National License in Coaching
from the United States Soccer Federation.
David is the Director of Coach and Player
Development for Ocean State Soccer Club and
also volunteers as a coach. He is the Jr.
Varsity Head Coach and Assistant Varsity
Coach for North Kingstown High School boy’s
soccer. David is a certified first
aid/CPR instructor by the American Heart
Association. In May 2007, David graduated from the University of Rhode Island
with a B.S. in Kinesiology specializing in
Health and Fitness. Says David,
"With my academic knowledge, sports
experience and practical skills, I would
like to be a part of improving the health of
the community." |
